How to equip your window workshop, step by step

A simple six-step plan so you do not buy machines in the wrong order or find out after delivery that something is missing.

1. Decide what you will make

PVC or aluminium windows and doors, or both? Façades, shop fronts, curved frames? The answer decides the machine families.

2. Estimate the volume

Count frames per month, now and in a year. Volume tells you whether to start with a single-head or a double-head saw.

3. Measure the space

Profile bars are usually 6–6.5 m. A double-head saw needs its own length plus handling room. Sketch the flow: bar storage → cutting → machining → assembly → dispatch.

4. Check the utilities

  • Compressed air: LGF pneumatic machines work at 7 bar.
  • Power: many machines have three-phase motors.
  • Extraction: a chip extractor keeps profiles and guides clean.

5. Buy in the right order

Cutting first, then hardware machining, then time-savers (end milling, measuring conveyors), and finally automation (CNC). See the proposals for a starting workshop, a growing workshop and industrial production.

6. Plan commissioning

Prepare air and power before delivery and decide who will be trained. Commissioning and training are provided by LGF România.
